As your tyres are the only part of your vehicle that has contact with the road, it is important to ensure they are well-looked after so you have sufficient grip to drive safely. Tyre tread is designed to pump water from the road in order to provide maximum grip, and without sufficient tread, your tyres are unable to do this. It is important to check your tyres regularly, but if you are at all unsure of how to check tyre tread yourself, you're more than welcome to pop in where we can check them over for you free of charge and advise you accordingly.
By the time your tyre is worn down to the legal limit, it is already unable to provide appropriate grip. It is therefore recommended by the RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) that tyres are changed before this point, ideally when they reach 3mm.
Looking After Your Tyres
Your vehicle handbook contains information on your required tyre size and how to look after them as well as how to check your tyre pressures, which should always be checked and maintained. If you are unsure how to check your pressures, feel free to pop down and we can do it for you completely free of charge.

Misaligned wheels can occur as a result of various circumstances, such as driving over a pothole at speed or hitting a kerb. Classic signs of misaligned wheels are the vehicle pulling to the left or right when driving and uneven tyre wear on the outer or inner edges and not the centre. However, if you are unsure, please do not hesitate to pop in and see us. Standard tracking is just £30.
